Day 01

Islamabad
Arrive at Benazir Bhutto International airport Islamabad. Meet, assist & transfer to the hotel. AM at leisure. PM Islamabad city tour.

Our sightseeing tour will start from, Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian & National monument with a trip to Damn-e-Koh, to catch an eye bird view of the twin cities. Overnight at the hotel. (No meals).

Day 02

Islamabad – Chilas or Gilgit
After breakfast transfer to Benazir Bhutto International airport Islamabad for flight to Gilgit by PK-605 or PK-607 (Subject to weather flight). This ATR flight will be taking us from Islamabad to Gilgit while looking at the beautiful Nanga Parbat.

Pick up from Gilgit airport by PK-605 or PK-607. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Gilgit. (Breakfast only).

(If flight cancels then, we will drive via Karakuram Highway to reach Gilgit on the way overnight stay in Chilas). Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Next day drive to Karimabad.

NOTE:- Confirmation of flight to/from Gilgit is subject to weather on provisional bookings and confirmation of seat is expected one day before. Confirmation depends on previous backlog.

If flight operates then city tour of Gilgit. Kargah visit, Gilgit Bazaar, and suspension bridge visit. Overnight at the hotel in Gilgit. (Breakfast only).

Day 03

Chilas or Gilgit – Karimabad
After breakfast proceed Karimabad. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel.

Karimabad is the delightful old capital of the Hunza Kingdom. From Karimabad, with its souvenir shop, post office and tea shop, you can obtain a magnificent view of the valley laid out below you and of the peaks behind. Karimabad area is sprinkled with wild flowers and blossoming fruit orchards. We will spend half our day in this town enjoying the greenery and delighting in the sound of water falls. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 04

Karimabad-Ultar (9,820 ft / 3,000 m)
After breakfast walk up to Ultar Meadows.

A good day hike can be made to Ultar Meadow, behind Karimabad. The Ultar Meadow is used as a summer pasture by the Baltit villagers. After coming down to Karimabad we shall visit the Old Baltit fort was the old palace of the Mirs of Hunza and was inhabited until 1960. It is about 800 years old. Baltit is a curious rambling old place, sturdily built of stones, sun – dried mud and timber. Baltit Fort is built on a cliff edge; behind it is a ravine and then the Ultar glacier shinning in the sunshine. The architecture here reflects a Tibetan influence. The view from the top of the fort is well worth the climb. After Baltit Fort visit, we enough have good time in Karimabad bazaar. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 05

Karimabad – Chapursan Valley (Baba Ghundi)
After breakfast transfer to Attaabad lake in Willy Jeep.

Cross the lake on motor boat up to Gulmit or Hussani, and then continue to onward traveling in Willy Jeeps to Chapursan Valley (Baba Ghundi). It will take about 8 hours to reach Baba Ghundi. The wide, flat valley supports irrigated wheat fields, though in the mid 18th century a flood covered much of the fertile land with a thick layer of clay and boulders. Legend has it that the flood was caused by the Saint Baba Ghundi, who came begging of the Valley. No one gave him anything accept an old woman who offered milk. To punish the Valley, Baba Ghundi sent the flood and mud slick destroying everything except the old woman, her field and her hut, thus earning great respect for the rest of his life, and deep adoration after his death. The Valley is still littered with high mounds of flood debris, and pilgrims from all over the Northern Areas and now even from Wakhan make pilgrimages to Baba Ghundi.

Besides this Chapursan Valley used to be the gate way to Hunza Valley from Afghanistan and Central Asia. Through this route lot of barter system was very popular and still we do see some barter system from Afghanistan.

We shall hire porters for our trek and we shall be going in a convoy shape. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 06

Chapursan – Biater
After breakfast start trekking for Chapursan Valley (Baba Ghundi).

The first day will be very long and tired as we shall be going on a very flat and rocky plain, we shall have lunch on the way. Biater is a green pasture of Chapursan, we see many cattles Yaks everywhere. The camping site is very green and beautiful. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 07

Biater – Chilinji Pass Base Camp
After breakfast we proceed towards Chilinji Base camp.

This will take about 4 – 5 hours to reach the base camp and the walk is quite steep and we have to walk on the glacier. The camp site is not very wide and we pitch on tents on the glacier, but we do have spectacular views around. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 08

Chilinji Pass Base Camp – Jungle via Chilinji Pass
Early breakfast in Tents.

We shall have very early wake up and walk towards the La with torches, to avoid the soft snow on the top and descending down is quite difficult and tricky, from the top to Jungle camp side its bit difficult on the rocks and narrow paths. Camp site is very beautiful with many trees and very clean water. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 09

Chilinji Pass – Sukhter Rawat
After breakfast we shall proceed to Sukhter Rawat by crossing the river on a suspension Bridge.

Trek will take us 6-7 hours, this is a green pasture where we see Gujar shepherds in the whole area. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 10

Sukhter Rawat – Shyying
Breakfast in the camp.

Right from Jungle onwards till Chitral and even to the Punial we will be going on the green surface accept today as we shall be walking on the Chitiboi Glacier which is the main source of starting Point of Kabul River.

We shall camp on an again green pasture. We shall take about 8 – 9 hours to reach camp with a gentle walk. Peg tents and overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 11

Shyying – Karambar Lake
After breakfast we shall trek to Karambar Lake.

One of the most beautiful Lakes on the Globe on a height of above 4000m. We shall take about 8-9 hours to reach here. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 12

Karambar Lake
With a leisurely breakfast in front of the beautiful lake and surrounded by white peaks we shall have a great rest day to enjoy the beauty of Nature. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 13

Karambar Lake – Terai Dast
Breakfast in the camp in front of the lake.

After breakfast we shall proceed for bit longer walk then we had before. We will be walking in the green pasture through out the day while having many streams and smelling different flowers and listening to beautiful music of birds. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 14

Terai Dast to Ishkarwaz
Breakfast in the camp.

After breakfast we shall trek further to Ishkarwaz where we see and meet many shepherds around. This day is again longer but a very nice walk in the green grass. We shall reach the camp in about 8-9 hours. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 15

Ishkarwaz to Chikar
Breakfast in the camp.

After breakfast we shall trek further to Chikar which is a proper village of Chitral, where we can see School, Dispensary and Mosque. On the way we cross a place called Darwaza, which means in Urdu language Gate or Door, this place is conceder to be the easiest pass to Afghanistan in the entire region. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 16

Chikar to Darkot Base Camp
After breakfast start trek from Chikar.

We shall turn to our left side for Darkot pass, as if we go straight we shall be going to Chitral. From Chikar to Darkot Base camp it’s very steep up but very beautiful in the greenery. Darkot Base Camp is not an attractive place as we hardly find place for camp, and it’s difficult to get water too. We shall reach in 7-8 hours from Chikar, and we shall be on a height of 3700m. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 17

Darkot Base Camp – Rawat via Darkot Pass
After very early breakfast we shall trek up to Darkot pass.

Going up is fairly easy as we walk on the snow and glacier, but descending is bit tricky as its very difficult fall down to Rawat Village. Overnight in the tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 18

Rawat-Gilgit
Breakfast in the camp.

After having last breakfast of the memorable trek we shall drive to Gilgit, our jeeps will be taking us to Gilgit in about 6-7 hours. PM at leisure. Overnight in the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 19

Gilgit or Besham-Islamabad
After breakfast transfer to Gilgit airport for flight to Islamabad by PK-606 or PK-608 (Subject to weather flight). Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel inIslamabad. or PM at leisure in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. (Breakfast only).

(If flight cancels then, we will drive via Karakuram Highway to reach Islamabad on the way overnight stay in Besham). Upon arrival transfer to the hotel.

Next day drive to Islamabad. (Breakfast only).

Day 20

Islamabad
Breakfast at the hotel.

Full day free at leisure in Islamabad or exploring surroundings such as Taxila or Murree hills. OR Drive to Islamabad from Besham. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).

Day 21 Islamabad
Transfer to Benazir International airport Islamabad for your home bound flight. (Breakfast only).
