 The highway is 800 km from Havelian (which is 100 km from Islamabad) and winds through Abbottabad Mansehra-Thakot - Besham - Pattan - Chilas - Gilgit - Hunza to Khunjerab Pass beyond which Chinese territory begins. Abbottabad is 1255 meters high open valley with green surrounding mountains, cultivated fields, orchards and streams. The fauna in this area is oriental and the bird species are replaced by palae-arctic species as we proceed further along the KKH beyond Thakot.

Check out at hotel, visit Shakarparian, Islamabad and Lok Virsa Museum , and drive to Murree, bird watching on the way, check in at hotel. After lunch trip to Bhurban. |

Early morning drive to Dunga Gali. Bird watching on pipeline trek. After lunch bird watching on Mushkpuri Hill (2970m) evening at Nathiagali, after dinner flying Squirrel watching and back to hotel. |

Check out at hotel and drive to Abbottabad, on the way bird watching. After lunch drive to Besham. Overnight at Besham. |

Drive along KKH to Gilgit. On the way visit to Shatial and Chilas to see rock carvings. Check in Gilgit. |

Trip to Naltar Lake . Trout fishing and look out for Markhors on vertical cliff. |

Drive to Phander Lake, while birding on the way. |
